Would you like to have a family member come live with you in Canada?
Family sponsorship applications are available for you if you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and live in Canada. The family sponsorship categories include:
If you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you may be eligible to sponsor your spouse so that they can come live with you in Canada. You need to meet specific criteria in order to demonstrate that your relationship is authentic and that it was not entered into for the sole purpose of being able to immigrate to Canada. You can file an application in Canada or abroad. Depending on your circumstances and situation, you should consider the pros and cons of each option in order to choose the application that best suits you.
If you have lived at the same address and were in a conjugal relationship with your partner for at least one year (12 consecutive months), you are potentially eligible to sponsor your common-law partner.
Parents and grandparents
You can also sponsor your parents or grandparents.
Dependent child(ren) and other sponsorships
Dependent children (22 years and under) are eligible to come live in Canada with their parents. You can also, by meeting certain criteria, sponsor a brother, sister, nephew/niece, grandchild, etc.
The family sponsorship application is a complex process. Daigle Immigration can facilitate the application process and help you obtain sponsorship for a member of your family while reducing the confusion, stress and misunderstanding that are often associated with family sponsorship applications.
